Educational community
Passion for Knowledge is also focussed on awakening this passion in present and future citizens. For this reason, the program wants to emphasize on those activities directed to the educational community and, in the case of the Kutxaespacio Encounters, it is tailored to suit students and teachers of 4th year ESO (compulsory secondary education) and Bachillerato (optional high school level).
In this privileged place for popularizing science, namely the Kutxaespacio de la Ciencia (Sicience Museum in Donostia - San Sebastan), there will be two encounters joining Nobel prize winners, secondary students, and teachers, seeking to instill in the young students the Passion for Knowledge.

Juan Ignacio Cirac, Jean-Marie Lehn , and Frank Wilczek will encounter secondary science students and teachers. During this encounter, the researchers will talk about their passion for knowledge and will reply to any questions from the students with regard to their work and life experience. The Encounter will start at 10.30 am, with an expected length of 3 hours, including coffee break. Registration in this workshop will be done through the schools, in collaboration with the Department of Education of the Basque Government. |

Teachers play a fundamental role to awake vocations for science, and passion for knowledge. Consequently, a second workshop will be held at Kutxaespacio, specially for teachers, in order to discuss the challenge of awakening passion for science in young students. Leading researchers with a long experience in teaching will participate in this encounter. The Encounter, where Claude Cohen-Tannoudji, Dudley Herschbach, and Heinrich Rohrer, will start at 10.30 am, with an expected length of 3 hours, including coffee break. Registration in this workshop will be done through the schools, in collaboration with the Department of Education of the Basque Government. |

The researchers Sylvia Earle and Ada Yonath will have an Encounter with students and Science teachers of 4th year ESO (compulsory secondary education) and Bachillerato (optional high school level) in the Aquarium. The researchers will talk there about their Passion for Knowledge and will answer all the questions the students would ask regarding their works and life experience. |
